Since travelling around Italy in July of last year, I now refer to these shorts as my "Pisa pants", as the white palette, short length and lightweight crochet design helped me manage with the immense heat of the Italian summer - also, due to the fact that I actually wore these pants when I visited the Leaning Tower of Pisa ;). Seeing them instantly transports me back to tourist mode and instigates an immeasurable level of excitement for my return visit to Italy this coming July.

Having owned these shorts for close to two years now, I consider them a staple within my wardrobe. I think what makes them my longest running fashion favourite item is their wearability - they can be dressed up for a dinner date or special event, or they can be teamed with a simple tee for a walk along the beach. I cannot count the cities that I have worn them in on my two hands; let alone the memories that they brace.

The night that these photos were taken, I had just come from seeing Cirque du Soleil's show at the Grand Chapiteau in Melbourne's Docklands and was excitedly walking towards my rendezvous with the sunset up in the Eureka Skydeck. It was turning into such a perfect last night in my favourite Australian city that when we were greeted with this view over the Docklands, we could not help but take some quick photos to capture the excitement of what had been and was about to be later that night. With a few detours to show my mum special spots and desert at my favourite eatery in the world (Roule Galette - a french crêperie in the heart of Melbourne that makes you forget that you are not in Paris; definitely recommended!), we arrived at the top of the Eureka Skydeck just as the sun was beginning to set. I could not think of any better way that I could have spent my last night in Melbourne. I'm already counting down the days until I return in May! :D
