Relaxation at the Clumber Park Hotel and Spa

With a busy few months ahead of us, finalising wedding plans and arrangements, we decided that it was time to treat ourselves to a little luxury and relaxation; so we booked into the Clumber Park Hotel and Spa.

Set next to the beautiful Sherwood Forest and Nottinghamshire country side, they offer a range of services, from weddings to spa weekends. Given that we’re pretty busy at the moment, we opted for their latest offering of a Step into Summer Day Spa Package

Arriving at the spa, we noticed a beautiful wedding was taking place and we moved to the side of the building to enter the New Leaf Spa. Here we were greeted by Keeley, who sat us down in the cafĂ© and talked through our plan for the day. As she showed us around the spa, we were also handed a key to our lockers, where we found our fluffy white robes, towels and slippers.

Like the big kids that we are, our first port of call was to find the beautiful outdoor hot tub that was surrounded by beautiful greenery and the smell of fresh cut grass. After spending a good 45 minutes in this basking in the sunshine, we decided to go for a swim – hey, we had to be a little healthy J

After relaxing back on the indoor loungers, we were called by our beauticians who guided us into the treatment rooms. We both opted for an all over body exfoliation from the ‘summer cocktail’ collection. I had the Strawberry Daiquiri and Gareth chose the Whiskey Sour – all I can say about this treatment is WOW!

Starting off on our front, we were body brushed to get rid of any dry or dead skin, before they applied an Elemis scrub/massage to our bodies. Once the treatment was complete, we were left to use the private showers in the treatment rooms to wash off the amazing smelling scrubs. Once dry, we lay back down on the beds to have a full body moisturising oil applied.

When you book this package, you also get an additional 15% off treatments, so we decided to take full advantage of this and indulge further in a 25 minute back, neck and shoulder massage. Once our treatments were completed we were taken back to the relaxation area and given a glass of bucks fizz to continue with our relaxation day.

However, after all of the ‘hard work’… we had worked up a bit of an appetite and so we decided to order some lunch. There was a range of sandwiches, baked potatoes and afternoon teas to choose from – but of course, we opted for a traditional cream tea to finish off our day. It would have been rude not too J

We left feeling relaxed, revitalized and rejuvenated – thank you Clumber Park Hotel and Spa.
