San Francisco Must-Sees on a Budget

If you were to ask me a place that I would want to live in America,  I would 100% say San Francisco. From the Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz Island, this iconic city houses some of the most beautiful scenery that I have ever seen.

First of all you've got to find your self a place to stay, The Guardian have a top 10 list of budget hotels and hostels to stay at in San Francisco.

1. Chill out with the Sea Lions at Pier 39

Whilst exploring in and around San Francisco, we always found ourselves heading back to the sea lions at Pier 39. It was hilarious and fascinating watching them just chilling out in the sunshine. However, it is pretty fishy.

2. Free Baseball (April to October)

Unfortunately we didn't have time to catch a baseball game at the Giants AT&T park - but also, tickets to the baseball can be pushing over the $100 mark, which when travelling can become pretty pricey.

However, if you're staying in San Francisco from April to October, you can the game for free if you head to the east side f the park and watch from the archway along the waterfront promenade.

3. Walk or cycle over the Golden Gate Bridge

Depending on your budget, I would definitely recommend taking a walk/ride over the Golden Gate Bridge and into Sausalito, on the opposite side of the bay. The whole experience from start to finish is truly amazing.

4. Sail by Alcatraz at Sunset

For $10 you can take the San Francisco Bay Ferry from Sausalito to Pier 41 and if you time it right, you can watch the sunset over the notorious Alcatraz and Golden Gate Bridge. Find out more at http://sanfranciscobayferry.com
