Free Admission Days For Kraków Museums

Good morning pumpkins! :)

I know everyone, when traveling, wants to keep a track on how much they are spending. Nowdays people have shifted and instead of having vacations for resting, they would rather have experiences and see things that they don't normally get to see.  The time and money is translated into what one has seen and what one has done - and, not to mention, the selfies taken at national monuments that everyone can recognise + the check-ins at fancy places.  It's a must! Well I am rather the old fashioned tourists that loves museums and castles, so this letter is for the ones that share my passion.

Today I will tell you about the free admission days for the museums in Kraków. You can put some money aside in this way, in order to get some nice presents or souvenirs for people back home ;) so, without further ado, here is the list:

MONDAY:

1) The crypt of the Church of St. Adalbert - between 10 am and 4 pm. St. Adalbert is the oldest church in Kraków.

2) Rynek Underground - Rynek Główny 1 - open between 10 am and 8 pm. I think this would be interesting as it shows the trail of Kraków ' s European identity throughout time.

3) Pharmacy "Under the Eagle" - located in Plac Bohaterow Ghetto 18. Open between 10 am and 2 pm.

4) Schindlers Factory - Lipowa 4 - open between 10 am and 2 pm but closed the first Monday of the month. This is a must! I also suggest coupling this with the "Under the Eagle" as it is close by ;)

5) Old Synagogue - open between 10 am and 2 pm.

6) Wawel Castle and Cathedral - from April to September 30th from 9 am to 5 pm, October to March from 9 am to 4 pm - The Most Important Residence of Polish Kings - State Rooms & The Lost Wawel + Crown Treasury & The Lady With An Ermine + the architecture and the castles inner garden - open during summertime 

TUESDAY:

1) MOCAK Museum - The Museum of Contemporary Art - is right next to Schindlers Museum ;) ans hard to miss. Last admission is at 6 pm. There are tours in Polish and English but you have to pay for that.

2) Polish Aviation Museum - located on Aleea Jana Pawla II - open from 9 am to 7 pm.

3) University Museum Collegium Maius - ul. Jagiellonska 15 - March 1st to October 31st from 3 pm to 6 pm (last admission at 5:20) & November 1st to March 31st from 2 pm to 4 pm (last entrance at 3:20).

WEDNESDAY:
1) The Hipolit House - bourgeois house and lovely garden - free between 9 am and 4 pm.
2) Botanical Garden - ul. Copernicus 27 - from 10 am to 2 pm free entrance.

THURSDAY:
*Wawel Castle and Cathedral

Tourists can visit the Wawel Hill for free everyday - until the gates close and it is dark (usually around 5 pm).

FRIDAY:
*Botanical Garden

SATURDAY:
*Wawel Castle and Cathedral

SUNDAY:

1) The Arsenal - Czartoryski Museum - the Gallery of Ancient Art on ul. Pijarska 8. Open between 10 am and 4 pm. It's a must for those who love Ancient Egypt.  They have 5 mummies (including a cat) and parts of the Book of the Dead.

2) Jan Matejko Museum - ul. Florianska 41 - open between 10 am and 4 pm. For those in love with paintings, they will love this place.

3) National Kraków Museum - al. 3 Maja - between 10 am and 4 pm. You can spend easily 3 hours there, and it's a nice and cool place to run out when the heat is unbearable.

4) Bishop Erasmus Ciolek Palace - ul. Kanonicza 17 - between 10 am and 4 pm.

5) Sukienicce Museum on the 2nd floor: The Gallery of 19th century Polish Art - Rynek Główny 3 - free between 10 am and 6 pm.

Of course there are multiple other museums in Kraków, and probably those have free admission days as well, but these are my fav so I can safely recommend them to you - without getting my head broken in the process :p Have you ever visited Kraków before?
