Tour Review: A visit to the home and gardens of Monet from Paris

Monet's house in Giverny
I mentioned in a previous post, that I would give preference to returning to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens in Hobart over the esteemed gardens of Monet in Giverny. Looking back over my photos from that day, I see I may have been a bit quick to jump to such a statement. So I thought I'd share some of my pictures so you can decide for yourself. Perhaps i'm just bitter at the constant stream of tourists standing on the bridge getting in my photos... Let me know what you think in the comments below or via Facebook

Tips
* Try to visit in the off seasons to avoid Tokyo-like conditions. Although you'd think that people would prefer to enjoy the beauty of the lily pond in combination with the green Japanese bridge made famous in Monet's Bridge over a Pond of Waterlilies, it appears that people prefer to stand on the bridge and just look at the lily pond. That is to say that crowds are a real downer to this experience.
 * If you visit at the beginning of May you may be treated to an array of pale lavender wisteria topping the Japanese bridge.
* There are some great tours offered through Viator that take you from central Paris to Monet's place as well as other sites such as Auvers Sur Oise to see sites made famous by Van Gogh. You can find out more about the particular tour I took here.
*Be sure to don your most floral and flirty sundress so that you can blend in and twirl in the garden of your dreams
