Trek and Treat: A Perfect Mothers Day Adventure
Our relationships with our mums are totally unique. From biological to step to adopted to in law, it doesn't matter who you class as you're "mother", it's how that it makes you feel loved and cared for in a way that only a mum can do.
For me, I feel very lucky to have such a wonderful mum in my life and when asked by the guys over at The Watch Shop to take part in there Mums on the Go Campaign*, I wanted to plan a mothers day treat that was not so much about being on the go, but something that my mum would love. Therefore, I decided to book the Trek and Treat package at Clumber Park Spa and Hotel.
Starting the day, we made our way to the Coloured Cob Equestrian Centre where you can take lessons, attend pony club (with the kids) or go on hacks through parts of Sherwood Forest and an amazing place called Creswell Crags, which I need to go back and visit!
My mum and I used to ride horses all the time when I was a kid and my mum always kept me calm and believed that I could ride a horse as easy and effortlessly as she did.
Our trek lasted for an hour and we were guided around by Oliver and Millie who both worked at the centre. I have to say, getting back on the horse, was one of the best things I've done in a long time.
After our trek was over, we jumped back in the car and drove 15 minutes over to the the Clumber Park Spa and Hotel to enjoy the rest of our afternoon.
Changing into our fluffy white robes, we made our way into the spa area to relax and swim before making our way for a mouthwatering roast beef Sunday lunch.
With dinner out the way, we decided to take our full tummies and sit outside Jacuzzi. Chatting and taking in the scenery of Sherwood Forest, it was so lovely just to catch up with my mum on life past and present.
As 1:30pm arrived, it was time for our relaxing massage. A full back, neck and shoulder massage was, as always, perfect and left us feeling completely rejuvenated.
Making our way back into the pool area, we relaxed with magazine and drinks before heading for more - yes MORE - food. A wonderful cream tea of fresh scones, cream and jam to finish off our perfect day.
